Come Boldly….
Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (NKJV)
What a promise this is! We also receive instructions. We are told here to come boldly. Where are we to come? To the throne of grace. Why, to obtain mercy. What will be there waiting for us, grace, and help. And then the question is when, in time of need.
As often as we look for answers, we look for help more often. Sometimes our pride keeps us from asking others in Christ to pray for us. Sometimes it is only plain stubbornness that keeps us silent. And then there is a holy God waiting to hear from us, eager for our requests. He knows we will find mercy and forgiveness in Him. Let’s face it, we need Him!!!!! And He wants us. He does not need us for He already has it all, and all we need is Him. When we are in trouble, when we are alone, when we need help, His grace awaits, and He promises more than enough.
In James 4:6 it says, But He gives us more grace. That is why scripture says:God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble (NLT). God calls us to repentance as well as providing for all our needs. He promises us that we can go to Him in everything. So, what is keeping us back? Sometimes we need to let go and let God.
Try Him and find Him true!
Prayer: Dear Father in Heaven, help me to trust You for the answers as I seek Your Word for the needed guidance from day to day. Show me that I can trust You for the grace in time of need. In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN.
