Give it to Jesus…..

John 21:6 And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So, they cast, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the multitude of fish. (NKJV)

This verse reflects more than what just meets the eye. The disciples had been fishing all night with no results. Jesus calls from the shore and directs them to cast the net on the RIGHT side of the boat. So, the men re-cast their net and pulled in a multitude of fish. When they realized who had given them instruction Peter jumped overboard, and the other men followed in the boat dragging the nets full of fish behind them.

The nets were full. Their need was met, or was it? Jesus was waiting on the shore. Fish and bread were ready to eat. But Jesus still directed the men to bring some of their own fish they had caught. They did not need a multitude of fish to feed these few men. But Jesus, as always, provides more than enough. Isn’t this just like Jesus? He did the same when they fed the five thousand. Little was provided, but an overabundance was the result through His blessing. Jesus always provides more than we need.

If we give ourselves to Jesus, He will work miracles though our lives. He will mold and shape us into His desired results. This shows us that our Savior has greater concerns for us than just meeting our needs. Maybe our prayer should be to give Him our blank slate for today, and we can observe and become the recipient of the Savior’s love and creativity.  At the end of the day, you can observe the wonderful things that He has done. Will there be challenges? Oh yes! But His desire is for us to succeed in all He has planned for our lives.

Won’t you give Him your blank slate today? He is willing and ready to bless you through all that He is, conforming us to the image of all we can be ……in Him!

Prayer:Dear Lord Jesus, Help me to give all I have to You. Help me to trust You in all things and areas of my life. Show me Your will and Your way that I may seek You in ways that will honor You. In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN!
