Peace in Christ
Matthew 8:23-27Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!”
But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So the men marveled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?”. (NIV)
Oftentimes when we are not going through trials and tribulations it is easy to be at peace in Christ. But when the storms rage and the seas rise, we often feel the same way that the apostles felt when their boat was in perilous danger, and they were in fear of sinking. The disciples went to the Savior and said, “Save us! We are going to drown!”And Jesus awoke and rebuked the winds and waves. Can’t you just hear the calm water lapping against the boat as the boat settled down from the tossing of the great storm?
There will be challenging times in our life but as believers we know we can rely on the fact that our Savior is there wanting and waiting for us to call upon Him.
When the storms in life come and we feel like we are drowning, God can give us peace in our hearts through grace to complete the journey.
Trust in Christ and experience His peace in ALL circumstances that lie ahead of you. He is waiting for you to call upon Him.
Prayer:Dear Father in Heaven, guard my heart that in calm times and challenging times of life, I still seek You. Prepare my heart to always look to You in all things either in the calm of life or the storms. In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN!
