Empowered in Christ
John 10:10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (NKJV)
What in your life could reflect Jesus such that everyone around you is positively influenced? Let’s investigate what causes this to occur and how this (spiritual) attitude can become a major part of our life.
We see in today’s verse that the abundant life is ours for the asking, but many of us are satisfied with a sub-par life. We are living as if what we have that day when we rise and face the morning is enough to just get by, and that is all we need. We even feel that sometimes that is enough. God expects us to live above these attitudes and step into the abundant life He already has planned for us. The reason we don’t experience this abundant life is that we are satisfied with what the world considers “The NORM” and we slowly become blinded by satanic side effects of this life here on earth. Let’s face it folks, if we don’t become pro-active in doing what God has called us to do as His children then we are cheating not only ourselves but those around us as well, including our families and those closest to us.
How can this be resolved? The following are some suggestions you may want to consider.
- We need to go to God and ask forgiveness for our sins.
- We need to ask God to empower us through His Holy Spirit to live our lives as He intends (besides, He knows what is best for us).
- We need to ask God to show us how to experience this abundant life so we may live as He intended.
- We need to live in expectation of His answers to our requests.
God has a great life for us to experience through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Prayer: Dear Father in Heaven, Guide me in the ways I need to humbly come to you with my requests. Help me to acknowledge your presence in my life throughout every day. Help me to live the abundant life you intended that I may be a living example and testimony of your great love to those around me. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
