Roman’s 15: 5 Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus. (NKJV)
This verse brings an incredible awareness of what Christ’s desire is for us. This type of communication requires two of the things that make up the character of God in the early part of this verse.
First there is the patience part of the verse. As believers, we need to become like minded when communicating with each other. This doesn’t mean we will all think alike. It simply means that as believers our thoughts and conversations should point unbelievers to Christ and believers into serious growth in Christ. We should do this together.
Then there is the comfort part of the verse. We should be comfortable in discussing the things of Christ with other believers. Drop our guard and understand the purpose of what God has for us to learn from Him in each conversation we have with other believers. Let’s focus on God’s agenda, not our agenda. When we follow God’s agenda, we are always amazed in seeing how He guides us into a learning opportunity. His agenda is always better than ours.
Take time today to steer the conversation to God and see what He does in the growth process in your life. Begin enjoying His agenda today. It’s worth the journey.
Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus, make me a tool in your hand that I may take every opportunity to learn more about You at every turn on my path in this life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
