We Have Been Commanded… (Part 1 of 2)
Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (NKJV)
We are commanded to be strong and of good courage just the same as Joshua was commanded. He was not asked to be strong and to have courage. He was commanded to be such. This same courage and strength are available to us today. God knows what lies ahead of us. Much of our day is orchestrated by God to draw us into a more intimate and meaningful relationship with Him. Each day is equipped with purpose and God desires us to seek Him. He knows and supplies what is best for us. Sometimes that can be a humbling experience because oftentimes we need to be humbled. James 4:10 says, Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord and He will lift you up(NKJV).
We are to rely on God for all things including strength and courage. This is not limited to the physical but also applies to the spiritual, mental, emotional, etc. We are the greatest creation of our God. He built us to receive all that He has to offer and makes available for us as we progress through life day by day. Our mere existence is provided by Him. He truly grants each breath we take. So let us look to Him in all things as the great provider and rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Key Thought: God has provided your day and all the strength and courage necessary to see you through. He always provides more than enough.
Look for the opportunities He has placed before you. His grace is always more than enough to see you through each and every day.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, May I truly trust You more each and every day as I look to You for the needed strength and courage. In Jesus name I pray, Amen!
