Significance in Christ means, “Staying the Course”…..

Luke 4: 1-14 Then Jesus being filled with the Holy Spirit……(NKJV)

I remember several years ago I heard Dr. E.V. Hill speak at a Promise Keepers Conference.  He spoke on the verses in Luke 4: 1-14.  This is the satanic temptation of Christ.

Here we find Christ in a physically, emotionally, and spiritually weakened state brought on by forty days of fasting, prayer and meditation.  He was so tuned in on the first five books of the Old Testament (the Pentateuch), which He practiced and memorized in his studies as a young boy, so much so, that He knew, even in His weakened state, the verses He needed to combat this satanic temptation. All the verses He used came from the book of Deuteronomy. This is very significant in today’s life for anyone. Being significant in God’s eyes alone we seek the support, strength and consistency in the only way God provides, His holy Word. This is found in 1 Corinthians 10: 14, No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.  (NKJV).  Needless to say, Jesus was quite resourceful in how He handled this temptation.

As significant as God the Father was in the life of His only son Jesus, He is just as significant in our lives today by making the same way of escape available to us as His adopted children.  There is a way, and His Word is where the rubber meets the road in the life of every believer. Isaih says in 30: 21, …”This is the way, walk in it.” We need to be in position to defeat Satan at every turn in our lives. We know Satan is there waiting for each opportunity to discourage us. We need to be prepared by staying in the Word of God, refreshing our hearts at every possible opportunity.

God has provided everything necessary for us to withstand the temptations of the devil.  It’s up to us to be resourceful in seeking Him and His significance in our lives as we go about day by day.

May God richly bless you as you seek Him daily.

Prayer:  Dear Heavenly Father, Guide me into the depths of Your great love and make me resourceful as You guide me day by day.  In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Have a GREAT Day!!!

In Christ,
