Establishing My BASE for Life…..
The most important decision you can ever make is to give your life to Jesus. This involved trusting Him that His death on the Cross covered your sins, and trusting Him so that you change your life to live by His ways. We like to see it as establishing the proper BASE for your life. If you sincerely take these steps, and pray
Believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for me and showed He was God by coming back to life.
1 Cor. 15:2-4 (NLT) “ It is this Good News that saves you if you continue to believe…. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. 4 He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.”
Accept God’s free forgiveness for my sins.
Romans 3:22 (LB) “Now God says he will accept and acquit us – declare us ‘not guilty’ – if we trust Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And we all can be saved in this same way, by coming to Christ, no matter who we are or what we have been like.”
Switch to God’s plan for my life.
Romans 12:2 (NLT) ” Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
Express my desire for Christ to be the director of my life.
Romans 10:9-10 (NLT) “ If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.”
You can pray a prayer that goes something like this to give your life to Him, and receive His gift of eternal life….
Jesus, Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. While I don’t understand everything about it yet, I want to trust You that Your blood washed away my sins. Give me faith to believe that. Please forgive me of my sins, and give me your gift of eternal life. I turn away from my sins and my ways, and turn to Your way to live my life. Teach me to follow You faithfully – to grow to become more like Jesus. Thank you for saving me! Amen.
